I'm traveling from Johannesburg to San Francisco. It's pretty much half way round the world: the shortest journey (both in time and distance) would be go westwards, via a direct flight to the US. But I'm a fan of the slower, more indirect routes, so I'm taking 6 weeks to go via an initial trip into East Africa, cross the Australian continent by train and island hop across New Zealand to the US West Coast. This blog documents the trip!

Melbourne
Couple of pictures of Melbourne's downtown.
This black swan was swimming in Melbourne's Yarra River. I wanted a picture because I've just finished reading the book Black Swan by Nassim Nicholas Taleb.
